SALEM / CHENNAI: The AIADMK winners from Vikravandi and Nanguneri Assembly by-elections, Muthamizhselvan and Reddiyarpatti Narayanan respectively, who called on the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. Edappadi K Palaniswami here on Friday to get his blessings, were all praise for the AIADMK's co-coordinator and the party's coordinator and Deputy Chief Minister, Mr. O. Panneerselvam and the party's poll allies for making this resounding victory possible.

The two beaming MLAs' met Mr. Palaniswami at his residence here and presented him with bouquets and shawls.

Mr. Narayanan, speaking on behalf of both the new MLAs', told the media that the 'smart political strategy' devised by Mr. Palaniswami and Mr. Panneerselvam had richly paid off in both the bye-elections. Besides, State ministers, alliance party leaders and party cadre worked very hard for “our success”.

The two victories show that people have full faith in the AIADMK government, Mr. Narayanan said, adding, this winning trend will continue in the coming Local bodies' elections and 2021 general elections also.

In another significant development, AMMK leader T T V Dhinakaran's former loyalist, Mr. Pugazhendhi, also met Mr. Palaniswami here with his followers and congratulated the Chief Minister for the AIADMK's by-election victories.

“This is a Himalayan win for the AIADMK and the Chief Minister's efforts have manifested in the huge margins evidenced during Jayalalithaa's days; this victory trend should continue,” Mr. Pugazhendhi said, adding, he would soon announce about his plans to re-join the AIADMK.
