Youth Congress Activists Halt KTR's Convoy

HYDERABAD: Youth Congress activists stopped the convoy of minister K.T. Rama Rao, seeking jobs and unemployment allowance that was promised ahead of the 2018 election.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Hyderabad Youth Congress president Motha Rohit said, “Successfully stopped minister KTR in Amberpet regarding TSPSC group one issue, demanding jobs and unemployment allowance. Our fight will not stop until the youth of Telangana get justice (sic).”

Since the formation of the state, only Group one notification was issued and cancelled twice. The unemployment allowance that was promised has not been given, they said.

“How many posts will the youth really get of the 500 that were notified? The youth of Telangana who felt they will have better prospects with statehood have been left in tears. We should teach the BRS government, indulging in paper leaks a lesson,” he said. The Congress, it if wins the elections, will rejig the TSPSC and fill the vacancies, Rohit said, adding, “We will issue unemployment allowance to the people.”
