Tension in Tadipathri Over TD Leader JC Prabhakar's House Arrest
He was scheduled to set the foundation for construction of a Kalyana mandam on Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple premises in Peddapappur mandal

ANANTAPUR: A tense situation prevailed at Tadipatri town in Anantapur district on Monday after police put under house arrest the TD leader J.C. Prabhakar Reddy.
He was scheduled to set the foundation for construction of a Kalyana mandam on Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple premises in Thimmanacheruvu in Peddapappur mandal.
Police denied permission to the TD leaders to perform bhumi puja for construction of the kalyana mandapam, citing legal issues.
Sources said Tadipatri MLA Kethireddy Pedda Reddy and YSRC leaders planned to merge the temple premises to the endowments department to take up development at the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Thimmanacheruvu village in Peddapappur mandal. TD leaders along with locals objected to the decision of the MLA, saying the temple was being polluted with politics.
The temple committee with support of Prabhakar Reddy approached the High Court and got clearance that the temple was not in endowments and that the temple committee and devotees can take up development works.
Based on court direction, the TD leaders along with locals in Peddapappur mandal planned the construction of a kalyana mandapam on the temple premises and invited Tadipatri municipal chairman and TD incharge Prabhakar Reddy as a chief guest.
As the issue was politicised and tension gripped Thimmanacheruvu and Peddapappur mandal headquarters, additional forces were posted at Tadipathri and Peddapappur. Police detained the temple committee members and several TD leaders at Peddapappur.
Simultaneously, the police didn’t permit Prabhakar Reddy to come out of his house. He said the police house-arrested TD leaders and devotees though there were clear directions from the High Court.
