Adilabad Congress leaders step up poll campaign

ADILABAD: Boosted by the response from the people, bullish Congress leaders have intensified their campaign by taking the party’s six guarantees -- Mahalakshmi, Rythu Bharosa, Cheyutha, Yuva Vikasam, Indiramma Indlu and Gruha Jyothi – to the people through door-to-door canvass as the notification for the Assembly elections is expected to be issued in next month.

Congress leaders in the erstwhile Adilabad district are focusing on gaining the confidence of women by popularising the party promises among the poor and slum dwellers.

Three party ticket aspirants from Adilabad constituency -- Gandrath Sujatha, DCC president Sajid Khan and Adilabad market committee chairman Sanjeev Reddy – took part in the campaign by distributing guarantee cards in Khanapur Colony in Adilabad town on Monday.

Party leaders claim that they were receiving great response from the people over the six guarantees announced by the party at the Thukkuguda meeting, especially the ‘Mahalakshmi’ promise resonating with women folks.

AMC chief Sanjeev Reddy said they people were discussing at large about the party guarantees, which would work like a gamechanger and improve the winning chances of Congress candidates in the elections to bring the party to power in the state.
In order to prepare the party leaders and cadres to face the elections, DCC president Sajid Khan said they would soon form new committees from booth to district level including all frontal organisations and appoint BLOs before October 10.

TPCC also focused on popularizing party declarations announced at Warangal, Hyderabad, and Chevella among students, unemployed, farmers and minorities during door-to-door campaign.

One R. Narsaiah, a resident of Ankoli village in the district said that they strongly believe in the Congress party about its promise of '2-lakh crop loan waiver if it comes to power in the state.
