VIJAYAWADA: Housing minister Jogi Ramesh has challenged Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to contest the Assembly polls from the Bhimavaram constituency on his own without any alliance and prove his public support.
The minister also said, “Nara Lokesh doesn't know what a Padayatara is and he should learn it by watching Padayatra videos of Y.S. Rajasekar Reddy and Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.”
Adviser to the state government (social justice) Jupudi Prabhakar Rao said, “Jagan Mohan Reddy is the hero” who gave the rights to the assigned lands possessed by farmers, and this was done for the first time after Independence.
He said Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy loved Dalits and implemented welfare and development programmes for them. Thereafter, his son, Jagan Mohan Reddy, did the same.
Prabhakar Rao alleged that Ramoji Film City was built on the assigned lands. “Our leader Jagan Mohan Reddy did not take a cent of assigned land anywhere.
Jagan Mohan Reddy gave full rights to the original beneficiaries, on the assigned lands given by the government after 1954 and on the lands with experience of 20 years.
Dalits formed the majority of the beneficiaries who have acquired rights over the assigned lands that had been cultivated by them for years, he said.
