Mysuru: There are people who take their disappointment to extreme lengths but when a farmer destroys an entire acre of costly silver oak saplings, just because of the resignation of his political idol, Chief Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, it says a lot about how politically conscious the farming community is.
In a shocking video lasting 18 seconds which was posted on facebook by the JD (S) youth brigade of Nagamangala in Mandya district, the farmer can be seen holding a sickle and standing amidst the silver oak plants which he chopped off. He had actually accepted a challenge that he would chop off the saplings the same night Mr Kumaraswamy resigned and so he had to do it. If someone like Mr Kumaraswamy had to step down as CM, it says a lot about the state of governance in the country, he remarked.
The video has now gone viral with hundreds of people sharing it on social media. Fans of caretaker CM Mr Kumarswamy have however urged farmers to not to hurt him with such acts. The name of the farmer and his village are not known.
