VIJAYAWADA: Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan has lashed out at Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and listed out a series of incomplete works -- be it Polavaram or the issue of job notification -- and called upon the people to dethrone him.
“Throw Jagan Mohan Reddy out and help the Jana Sena win power in the next elections and develop AP as the No. 1 state,” Pawan Kalyan told a public meeting during his AP tour on the Varahi campaign vehicle at Narasapuram in West Godavari on Monday.
The Jana Sena chief flayed the CM for releasing a huge amount of money for his several welfare schemes. “This is the taxpayers’ money and not your personal wealth,” he said.
He listed out a series of works where the CM “ did not click the button to release funds” and rather left them incomplete. He asked why the Polavaram irrigation project was not completed, why job notifications are not issued, why no compensation was paid to farmers, why the fisherfolk and coconut farmers were neglected.
He also asked the CM as to why road and bridge works remained incomplete, why there were no curbs on crime in AP temples, why no rail connectivity from Narsapuram to Konaseema, why no desiltation of canals, why no safety to women, why no drinking water, why closure of 3,000 schools and so on.
The Jana Sena leader took a long breath after raising so many questions to the CM and resumed his talk with a pledge to work for development of AP, as a worker or as a mason (Muta Mestri). “I will rule the state with no political corruption,” he said.
If the Jana Sena is elected to power, Pawan Kalyan promised to provide a financial aid of Rs 10 lakh each to 500 youths in each Assembly segment to set up industry or business and help others to get jobs; life insurance for entire family worth Rs 25 lakh, a health policy for each family, a single window system for doing business to make AP No. 1, protection to lawyers and doctors and strict laws for safety of women.
He promised to come up with a master plan for development of the Godavari districts to promote temple tourism, IT and other industries and asked why no boat race was held to promote tourism in Konaseema as was done in Kerala. “We would not allow a factionist culture like in Pulivendula in the Godavari districts,” he said.
Pawan Kalyan called for the ouster of Jagan Mohan Reddy from the CM post if Andhra Pradesh is to witness development, empowerment of BCs and justice to Kapus by providing them reservation.
“I have started the fight for transformation of AP and I do not know how long I will live or when I will die but I want the transformation to take place with the support from the people. I want a responsible government in place and political leaders with accountability for their acts. When I lost the election from two Assembly seats in the 2019 polls, I felt very sad and it took me 15 minutes to reconcile myself. I took inspiration from Dr B.R. Amedkar as he too lost the first general election. Then I started to fight for you people once again,” he said.
