Congress will lead a reverse gear government in Karnataka: Bommai

Mangaluru: Former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has strongly criticized the current Congress government in the state and labelled it as a "reverse gear government."

He was speaking to the media at Hubballi today.

Bommai's remarks came in response to certain Cabinet Ministers from the Siddaramaiah government who discussed the possibility of reviewing legislative measures enacted by the previous BJP administration.

Bommai highlighted the Congress party's tendency towards appeasement politics and questioned their actions once in power.

"We are aware of the Congress party's inclination towards appeasement politics. It remains to be seen how they perform now that they are in power. Should they treat the people unjustly, we will fight both legally and politically. The Congress party seems to believe that they can freely alter everything once in power, which indicates their arrogance," he stated.

"The Congress is in reverse gear on the guarantees it made to the people. They are regressing on the pro-people legislation enacted during our tenure. The consequences of their actions are widely recognized by the people. This isn't merely a case of reversing gears in governance, but it also reveals the vindictive nature of the Congress," he added.
