Kodiyeri Balakrishnan says party to make prompt changes

He said the Congress “big brother’’ attitude came in the way of putting up a strong opposition to BJP at the national level.

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Saturday said the erosion in votes of the LDF will be studied in detail from booth to state committee level.

He said the Congress “big brother’’ attitude came in the way of putting up a strong opposition to BJP at the national level.

“The setback suffered by the LDF is serious. We will evaluate the results in detail. If required, we will make the required changes and move forward,” he said.

Kodiyeri said the reasons behind the electoral setback would be objectively evaluated. The election work and organisational work of the CPM was very effective. But despite the best efforts the party could not prevent the setback.

The CPM leader said some people got trapped in the propaganda unleashed by the opponents. “We need to approach such people with humility and do whatever is possible to get back their support. The final victory will be of LDF,” he said. He said the Congress should open their eyes to what is happening to them across the country.

The CPM leader said the party would continue to fight against the RSS. “We will not take back the step taken forward to fight against RSS. The fight will continue to defend the secular fabric,” he added.
