BJP completed reservoirs works: Bandi

Bandi alleged that TRS had not spent a single rupee towards the completion of Sangambanda or Bhutpur reservoirs

HYDERABAD: Telangana Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Monday claimed that lift irrigation projects such as Bhima, Sangambanda, and Bhutpur reservoirs that now serve the erstwhile Mahbubnagar district became possible only due to the persistent efforts of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Addressing a large public meeting at Maktal, as part of his ongoing Praja Sangrama Yatra, he alleged that TRS had not spent a single rupee towards the completion of Sangambanda or Bhutpur reservoirs and their distributary canals.

“We shall give water to the tail-end areas of the ayacut under these reservoirs, if the BJP is voted to power,” he said. He also promised to complete the Munirabad-Mahbubnagar railway works at the earliest.

He reiterated his statement that Telangana had received Rs 3 lakh crore from the Centre till 2021.

This could go up to Rs 4.11 lakh crore by the financial year end, including tax devolutions, schemes, national highways, railway projects and funds.

“I am ready for any debate on this issue. Let minister Harish Rao or anybody else come for the debate,” he said.
