Telangana BJP legislator Raja Singh faces 18 hate speech cases

In eight of those cases, he has been charged with promoting hatred between communities through his actions and words.

Hyderabad: Cases have been registered against 11 sitting legislators of Telangana for hate speech, the second highest number in the country, according to a report released by the Association for Democratic Reform (ADR) on Wednesday.

Other TRS leaders against whom cases have been registered are Thatikonda Rajaiah from the Ghanpur Station Constituency, Koppula Eshwar, from Dharmapuri, and Putta Madhukar from Manthani.

BJP legislator T. Raja Singh, who represents Goshamahal Assembly Constituency, has the highest number of cases in the state, 18, registered against him. In eight of those cases, he has been charged with promoting hatred between communities through his actions and words.

Among the four cases against Asaduddin Owaisi, are three for rioting and hate speech. Cases have also been registered against other leaders of his party. Six cases have been registered against Mumtaz Ahmed Khan from Yakutpura, eight against Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, 10 against Akbaruddin Owaisi and two against Mohd Moazam Khan.
