Chennai: Actor and founder of All India Samathuva Makkal Katchi R. Sarathkumar observed a fast protest near the Chepauk government guest house here on Wednesday to condemn the central government for not constituting the Cauvery Management Board.
A large number of pro-Tamil leaders, activists, party workers and general public participated in the hunger strike, which was organised to urge the Union government to set up the CMB without any further delay.
TNCC chief Su. Thirunavukkarasar and VCK chief Thol Thirumavalavan too extended their support to Mr. Sarathkumar. DMDK president Vijayakanth had sent a greeting message to Sarathkumar appreciating his decision to stage hunger protest.
