Chennai: No one wants dynastic politics, says TTV Dhinakaran

Addressing a farmers' rally (for Cauvery Management Board) at Thanjavur, TTV hit back at uncle Dhivakaran warning him of severe action.

Chennai: The intra-family conflict continues to escalate in jailed V. K. Sasikala's family with her brother Dhivakaran telling the media that TTV Dinakaran was functioning in an undemocratic manner for personal gains and his decision to launch the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) did not have the approval of Chinnamma (Sasikala).

Addressing a farmers' rally (for Cauvery Management Board) at Thanjavur, TTV hit back at uncle Dhivakaran warning him of severe action. “I make a clear distinction between family and party; will take stern action against anyone hurting party interests,” he warned.

TTV's loyalist Vetrivel has accused Dhivakaran of joining hands with Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to support the BJP regime, whereas Chinnamma had gone to jail “with her chest up in pride in opposing communal politics,” said Vetrivel.

The drama makes interesting viewing and it remains to be seen who will emerge the winner. Many believe that the war is not for political prominence but for sharing of wealth post-Jayalalithaa demise.

Speaking to media persons in Mannargudi, Dhivakaran made it clear he was not in favour of Dhinakaran's party. When asked about his relationship with TTV Dhinakaran, Dhivakaran replied, “TTV Dhinakaran has not spoken anything. He's making others talk for him. Let him open his mouth and talk first.”
