Rangasamy is traitor, says Jayalalithaa
Puducherry: Tamil Nadu CM and AIADMK general secretary J. Jayalalithaa on Monday slammed the Puducherry Chief Minister N. Rangasamy by calling him a ‘traitor’. She said voting for his party will amount to committing suicide.
Addressing an election campaign here on Monday, she said Rangasamy had buried the alliance dharma by not sharing power with her party after the last Assembly election even though both parties contested the election together.
“People voted because of the trust they had in me, but Rangasamy betrayed us.”
She said both Congress and NR Congress were not able to lead Puducherry to progress. Only AIADMK can take the union territory on the path of progress.
Her major election promises include getting statehood status for the Union Territory, waiving of Rs 6,400 crore debts of the state, holding of local body polls in Puducherry, new industrial policies to attract industrialists, a medical college in Karaikal and job opportunities for people.
