Kottayam/ Kasargod/ Alappuzha: More candidates in the district submitted their nomination papers for the Assembly elections at various centres on Monday. They include Mr P.C. George, Kerala Congress (secular) leader and sitting MLA of Poonjar, and Mr P.C. Joseph of the LDF who filed their papers at the Erattupetta block development office.
Mr Reji Zacharia, LDF candidate of Kottayam, filed the papers before the special deputy collector at the taluk office in the mini civil station at Karapuzha near here and Mr Thomas Chazhikkadan , UDF candidate of Ettumanur, at the taluk office at Ettumanur.
In Kasaragod, eight more candidates submitted nominations. This includes IUML candidate P.B Abdul Razak (Manjeshwaram), INL candidate Dr A.A Ameen (Kasargod), IUML candidate N.A Nellikunnu (Kasargod), CPM candidates K. Kunjiraman, E. Padmavathi (Uduma), CPI candidates E. Chandrasekharan, P. Kunjikrishnan (Kanjangad) and Congress candidate K.P Kunjikannan (Thrikkaripur).
In Alappuzha, as many as 15 nominations were filed on Monday. This included those of Ambalapuzha LDF candidate G. Sudhakaran and Alappuzha UDF candidate Laly Vincent.
Chengannur UDF candidate P.C. Vishnunath, Haripad LDF candidate P. Prasad, Mavelikkara LDF candidate R. Rajesh, Chengannur LDF candidate K.K. Ramachandran Nair, NDA candidate P.S. Sreedharan Pillai are among the prominent candidates who have filed their nominations on Monday. Alappuzha LDF candidate Thomas Isaac will file his nomination on Tuesday.
