Anantapur: Tadipathri, a peculiar faction-hit segment and home turf of J.C. Diwakar Reddy family for many decades has been targeted by the YSRC.
It wants to prove its existence by uniting dissident leaders from the Telugu Desam and has fielded a JC family rival K. Pedda Reddy as the candidate from the Tadipathri Assembly segment.
Mr Diwakar Reddy won as the MLA since 1985 till 2009 as the Congress candidate and then he contested as MP for the Anantapur Lok Sabha as the TD candidate in 2014. His brother J.C. Prabhakar Reddy contested as the TD candidate in the last polls from the Tadipathri segment. The JC brothers are not in the contest this time and have fielded their sons.
While Mr Diwakar Reddy’s son Mr Pavan Reddy is contesting as the Lok Sabha candidate from Anantapur Lok Sabha seat while Mr Prabhakar Reddy’s son Mr Asmith Reddy is contesting from the Tadipathri Assembly segment. With several TD leaders joining the YSRC, the stage is set for a keen contest.
