Warangal: Rallies mark nomination day

Candidates submit nominations for Warangal, Mahbubabad Lok Sabha seats.

Warangal: On the final day of filing nominations, the candidates submitted all the required papers to the returning offices of Mahbubabad and Warangal Parliament seats on Monday. A total of 28 candidates filed 43 sets of nominations for Warangal Parliament seat and 20 candidates filed 35 sets of nominations for Mahbubabad seat.

Warangal Returning Officer Prashant J. Patil said that the nomination process has passed off peacefully. The scrutiny of the nominations would be held on Tuesday. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is March 28.

BJP candidates Chintha Sambamurthy and Jatoth Hussain Naik submitted their nomination papers in Warangal and Mahbubabad respectively.

Congress candidate Dommati Sambaiah too filed his final set of nomination for Warangal seat. His daughter Mounika filed nomination papers as a dummy candidate. TRS candidates Pasunoori Dayakar and Maloth Kavitha filed their final sets of nominations on Monday.

Hanamkonda Sambaiah filed two sets of nominations, one as TDP candidate and another as an Independent.

Minister for panchayat raj Errabelli Dayakar Rao, former deputy CM Kadiam Srihari, Warangal West MLA Dasyam Vinay Bhaskar, Warangal East MLA Nannapuneni Narender and Kuda chairman Marri Yadava Reddy accompanied Pasunoori Dayakar to the Returning Officer where he filed two sets of nominations.

Speaking to mediapersons, after filing nomination, Mr Pasunoori Dayakar thanked Chief Minister KCR for reposing faith in him for a second time and called upon the people of Warangal to give him a record majority once again.

Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that the TRS would win 16 Parliament seats in Telangana and Chief Minister Chandrasekhar Rao would play a crucial role in national politics in the current situation, suggesting that neither the BJP nor the Congress is in a position to form a government.

He said the Federal Front, led by TRS, would play a major role in forming the government at the Centre.

Mr Dayakar informed that the Chief Minister would address a huge public meeting in Warangal as part of the election campaign on April 2. The party has been making arrangements for the meeting to be held at the Azam Jahi Mills Ground.
