Nellore: Police on Monday detained a person distributing cash to voters at Mulapeta which is part of Nellore City segment.
The person, identified as B. Krishna, was taken into custody after YSRC cadre informed the police that the person was giving cash to some people.
Police seized Rs 50,000 from the accused. The YSRC men alleged that Krishna was working in Narayana institutions.
Meanwhile, some TD leaders approached the police with details pertaining to the cash but the inspector of Chinna Bazar Station, Anwar Basha, said they have already booked a case as per the directions of election officials.
It may be recalled that police had seized Rs 8 lakhs on Sunday from some persons carrying the cash at Janda Street, which is also part of Nellore City assembly segment. Minister P. Narayana is contesting from the seat.
