Nama Nageswara Rao files nomination for Khammam Lok Sabha seat
Khammam: Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy skipped attending the event in which Nama Nageswara Rao filed nomination as the TRS candidate. This was allegedly on the advise of the party high command.
Mr Nama Nageswara Rao came to the Collectorate early and submitted his nomination papers to Returning Officer R.V. Karnan.
Former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao, Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, former MLA Jalagam Venkat Rao and others accompanied Nama Nageswara Rao.
The TRS leaders met at the party office at 10 am and proceeded to the election office.
Mr Nageswara Rao said that there will be much difference in Khammam in general elections when compared to the Assembly elections. He said that people knew the importance of sending more TRS MPs to the Lok Sabha.
“TRS will bring more funds and projects if they had 16 MPs in the Lok Sabha,” he said, adding that the people in the district knew the development programmes of KCR government. He said that all TRS leaders were involved in the nomination programme and some had informed about their inability to attend it.
The Collectorate Road was blocked for five hours as both Congress and TRS parties organised processions one by one. Mr Nama Nageswara Rao said that people should vote and make TRS win, for the sake of the district.
“KCR will get more funds from the Centre if the people give 16 Lok Sabha seats as a gift to the party,” he said, adding that he identified the commitment of KCR on the development of Telangana and said that he has decided to extend his support to him. “I was honoured with a TRS ticket for Khammam Lok Sabha as soon as I joined into the party,” he said.
The followers of Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy skipped the programme and TD leaders, who joined in TRS, along with Nama were involved in processions.
