G Kishan Reddy set to take on Secunderabad Lok Sabha rivals
Hyderabad: Despite the debacle of the Assembly elections, G. Kishan Reddy of the Bharatiya Janata Party is set to give a fight to his opponents in Secunderabad Lok Sabha constituency.
Filing his nomination on Monday along with former Union minister Bandaru Dattatraya, BJP state president Dr K. Laxman and former MLA Chintala Ramchandra Reddy, Kishan Reddy said that educated people of Secunderabad were with the BJP.
“I am a known face in Secunderabad and people know me in the city. The educated people of Secunderabad want Narendra Modi to come again and for that reason they are going to vote for the BJP,” Mr Reddy said.
An MLA for 15 years, Mr Mr Reddy said that he is aware of the problems of the people and is going to take them up in the Parliament. He dismissed his recent defeat in the Assembly elections from Amberpet, by saying, “Elections to the state Assembly and to the Parliament are different.
People do not want a coalition of family rule and they are going to vote for Narendra Modi. There is no issue of corruption, no issue of price rise since last five years. It is the confidence in the Modi government for which people will vote.”
Taking a dig at his Congress rival from Secunderabad, former Member of Parliament Anjan Kumar Yadav, Mr Reddy said, “How many issues has Mr Yadav raised in the Parliament? How many press conferences has he addressed? There is not a single issue that has been taken up by him. People are not going to give a chance to family parties in the country.”
Mr Reddy, who has been in the BJP for the last 35 years, claims that he is a ‘clean politician’ and has always worked for the people of the city.
He says, “Secunderabad has a lot of educated voters and they are going to choose their candidate wisely.”
