Conspiracy is on to defeat my kin, alleges HD Kumaraswamy

Mysuru: Alleging a deep-rooted conspiracy to defeat his kin in Mandya, Hassan and Tumakuru, Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Monday said his party would play the development card and pursue coalition dharma in the run up to next month’s Lok Sabha elections.

The Chief Minister, who offered pooja at the temple of Goddess Chamundeswari and also sought the blessing of Sri Shivarathri Deshikendra Swamy ji in Mysuru along with his son Nikhil Kumaraswamy and other members of his family before accompanying the son to Mandya for submission of nomination papers, told the media: “I have worked for Mandya. We will seek votes without mentioning the name of Ambareesh. I have not misused the late actor’s name.. Every one knows about my friendship with Ambareesh and whatever I have done when he passed away. It is they (Mrs Sumalatha and her supporterss) who are using the name of Ambareesh. Where was Mrs Sumalatha when farmers of Mandya were in crisis and committed suicide? I have responded to the people of Mandya. I have worked in favour of people of Mandya, and I am seeking votes from them. No matter who says what, victory of Nikhil in Mandya is a certainty,” he added.

Admitting confusion in some constituencies, including Tumakuru where Congress Member of Parliament Mr Muddu Hanume Gowda filed nomination papers as a rebel candidate, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that such issues would be sorted out soon.
