BJP says TD trying to break alliance in Andhra Pradesh

They are not even referring to the name of TD government for implementing the central schemes.

Rajahmundry: As the alliance between both the BJP and TD showed strains in the recent past and both the parties are unable to get along on several issues, BJP flayed the TD government for finding one pretext or other to break the al-liance in the state.

After the presentation of both the rail and general budgets by the BJP-led NDA regime, TD ministers and legislators openly blamed the Centre for failing to sanction special status, financial package to the backward districts of north Andhra, a railway zone, major allocation of funds for the prestigious Polavaram irrigation project and others.

TD's onslaught is being repelled by the BJP as its leaders are not happy wi-th the way in which the TD government is claiming credit for taking up several projects with the funds allotted by the Centre. Political analysts say that as the TD is becoming strong in AP with several MLAs from the main opposition YSRC switching loyalty to it, a section of TD senior leaders are mounting pressure on the TD leadership to give up the alliance with BJP. They say that as YSR Congress is unable to keep its flock intact, some more leaders from the party may join TD in the days to come.

On the other hand, the BJP state leadership is no longer strong enough to take important decisions on any issue.

The AP BJP unit is looking for national leadership even to counter the criticism of TD government. Of late, the BJP state leaders are attributing credit to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for initiating a series of welfare schemes like Housing for All, Atal Pension Yojana, Mudra Bank Loan scheme and others. They are not even referring to the name of TD government for implementing the central schemes.

In addition to it, the BJP leaders are not happy with the TD government on several issues including its failure to implement poll promises on loan waiver to farmers and Dwcra women.

Even on the newly announced free sand policy also, the BJP leaders differ with TD government by saying that unless the government comes up with a clear policy on sand, the lives of several lakhs of people depending upon construction industry and its allied works will be affected.

TD MLA Gorantla Buchaiah Choudhary said, "There is unrest in both the party and government against BJP as it failed to come to the rescue of AP on several issues be it revenue deficit, special status and allocation of funds. Though BJP claims to have sanctioned Rs 1.40 lakh crores to the state, in fact only 340 crore has been released so far. We are maintaining composure even if we are provoked by BJP. It is an open secret as to how much of the strength of BJP is independent in the state" BJP state coordinator P. Raghu Ram said, "Our national leadership intends to continue the alliance with TD in the state and also wants the party to be strengthened."
