Strive for development of all Telugus, Naidu to party leaders

Hyderabad: Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N. Chandrababu Naidu said that the party was established for the development of Telugus and it would work for them across the globe.

Set aside criticism on bifurcation and work for the development of Telugu people, he said after launching ‘Intintiki Telugu Desam’ programme at NTR Trust Bhavan here on Sunday.

Naidu said that support for Telugu Desam among Telangana people was intact. Party leaders and cadre should go to people’s doorsteps and explain the party's role in shaping lives, he said.

The former chief minister said that the first Assembly ticket will be given to a Nayee Brahmins and the second ticket for Rajakas. It is the need of the hour to give leadership for the most backward classes, he said while reminding that it was Telugu Desam that had always backed BCs and had brought several changes in Telangana, including abolishing the patel and patwari system.

Naidu urged the Union government to confer Bharat Ratna on TD founder N.T. Rama Rao. “We will continue the ideology of NTR in uplift of socially and economically backward classes”, he said.

The TDP Foundation Day will be celebrated at parade grounds here on March 29, he said.

TDP Telangana state president Kasani Gnaneshwar Mudiraj, senior leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy and others spoke.

Later, Naidu distributed Initintiki Telugu Desam kits to party leaders on the occasion.
