We want tainted mins punished: Anbumani Ramadoss

No change in party's stand on corruption issue'

Chennai: PMK leader Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss has asserted that there is no change in his party’s stand on corruption issue and said action has to be taken against the PMK’s corruption complaints against the ruling AIADMK Ministers if the charges were found true.

“We did give a dossier of corruption charges to the Governor of Tamil Nadu. There is no change in our stand…if found true, action has to be taken against our corruption complaints,” he said on Monday and lashed out the opposition parties for targeting his party for having electoral pact with the AIADMK. He would be the first person to seek their resignation, he added.

Hitting out at DMK president M. K. Stalin for criticising the PMK, he said Stalin was perhaps afraid of the victory prospects of the AIADMK-led alliance. “Maybe Stalin is criticising us because he is unhappy that we didn’t align with him. Or maybe he knows that our alliance will win. But we will not criticise him,” the Dharmapuri MP said.

Turning to the unsavoury remarks made by TNCC working president M.K. Vishnu Prasad recently, Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, said “Vishnu Prasad has been my brother-in-law for 30 years. I did not even dream he would say such things. My wife too is shattered by this. I feel that the DMK is using my own brother-in-law to make allegations against me.”

“If they criticise me, then its politics. If they oppose me then they will get a (Lok Sabha) seat,” he added.

On Tuesday, hours after the AIADMK finalised a poll pact with the PMK, Mr. Vishnu Prasad ridiculed PMK founder S. Ramadoss for “shamelessly” joining hands with the AIADMK.

“It was former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa who put Mr. Ramadoss behind bars in Tiruchi Central Prison. He was treated shabbily in the jail. We all witnessed that. But he has now joined hands with the same AIADMK, losing his dignity and honour. It is a shameless act,” said Mr. Prasad.
