CM Pinarayi Vijayan preventing probe taking right course: V M Sudheeran

M Swaraj MLA said Sudheeran is trying to discredit the investigation to conceal the failure of the law and order machinery during the UDF regime.

KOCHI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has become instrumental in preventing the scope and depth of the investigation in the case connected with the criminal assault against popular film actor, said KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran. The comments by Pinarayi that the investigation so far has not revealed any sign of conspiracy has preempted the investigation process, he said inaugurating a 24-hour fast by Congress MLA P.T. Thomas against the increasing incidents of violence against women and demanding transparency in the probe connected with actor assault case.

The comments by Pinarayi amount to giving a message to the investigation team that the probe need not extend to any other areas, Sudheeran pointed out. Sudheeran has also accused the CPM of trying to create an impression that the investigation has been completed with the arrest of the gangsters involved in the crime.

DYFI state secretary M. Swaraj MLA said Sudheeran is trying to discredit the investigation to conceal the failure of the law and order machinery during the UDF regime. Swaraj also ridiculed the fasting by P.T. Thomas by recalling the rape and murder of a woman inside the office building of a Congress committee office in Nilambur. “If Mr. Thomas is having any sincerity on the increase of violence against women he should stage protest before congress committee office in Nilambur”, he said.
