Congress says both centre, state fooling people with promises

WARANGAL: Neither the Narendra Modi government at centre nor Chandrasekhar Rao regime in state have fulfilled their poll promises but are raising extraneous issues that divert attention of people, former MP Ponnam Prabhakar underlined.

He was speaking at the flag-hoisting ceremony the District Congress, led by DCC president Dr. K. Satyanarayana, organised on occasion of the 74th Republic Day. The occasion also marked dovetailing of continuing Bharat Jodo Yatra into the Haath Se Haath Jodo Yatra, as part of which Congress workers dropped pamphlets at every household in Padmanagar Colony in Karimnagar on Thursday.

Ponnam Prabhakar explained how Congress achieved Independence with sacrifices and strove hard to build the nation. The party also gave separate statehood to Telangana.

Now, the former MP said, BJP government at the centre has increased prices of daily essentials, putting poor and middle class families into trouble and BRS government is making false promises and misleading people.

The Congress leader emphasised that during the 60 days of Haath Se Haath Jodo Yatra, Congress party activists must explain to people how BJP and BRS are killing democracy in the country.

City Congress president Komatireddy Narendar Reddy, Dr. Anjan Kumar, Shravan Naik, M. Rohit Rao, Abdul Rehman, V. Raj Mallaiah, Ch. Padma, M. Mohan, Syed Akhil, K. Ramchander, Nagi Shekar, M. Sujith Kumar, G. Vilas Reddy, Bobbili Victor, Enna Reddy and Md. Chand Pasha participated in the function.
