Malkajgiri MLA suspends Neredmet corporator

Mynampalli alleged that the sitting corporator and division ex-president Madhusudhan Reddy were involved in land grabbing cases

HYDERABAD: Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao suspended Neredmet corporator G.K. Sridevi, who has 17 days left to complete her tenure. Rao alleged that the sitting corporator and former division president Madhusudhan Reddy were involved in several irregularities, including land grabbing cases.

The TRS MLA assured that he would render justice to all those affected by the two and recover their land.

High tension drama prevailed on Monday morning as the Jawaharnagar police arrested Sridevi for obstructing the demolition of structures in Yapral. Police said that it was only a preventive arrest for hindering the demolition drive taken up by GHMC.

The former Neredmet division president, who was suspended from TRS, said that it was political vendetta. He said that Hanumatha Rao has been booking false cases against him. Reddy said that he will quit his business if Rao proves any land grabbing allegation made against him.

Speaking to Deccan Chronicle, Rao said that he had earlier warned both Sridevi and Madhusudhan Reddy to stop their corrupt practises. He said that the two blatantly misused their powers.

"They have maligning the party image and I, as an MLA, suspended Sridevi '', he said. Efforts to reach Sridevi were futile and her mobile was switched off.
