Hyderabad: 1950 Helpline launched to help voters
Hyderabad: The helpline number 1950 was launched for the convenience of voters and their effective participation in the revision of electoral rolls, during National Voters Day celebrations at Ravindra Bharati.
Launching the helpline, Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan said, “Everyone who attains the age of 18 years should register for voting and Telangana state should record 90 per cent polling in general elections.” Many officials from the Election Commission, GHMC and police were present at the event.
Participating in the event, chief electoral officer Rajath Kumar said, “The Assembly elections were conducted with transparency. The polling percentage has increased and the process was completed without any untoward incidents taking place."
Mr Kumar added that the officials of the state election commission were preparing for the the Lok Sabha elections which will be held in a few months. He appealed to the eligible persons to enrol their names in the electoral rolls on or before February 4.
