Hyderabad: BJP state president and Union minister G. Kishan Reddy said that the primary concerns of the people during the statehood movement were water, funds and jobs. He lamented that the movement, spearheaded by the Backward Classes communities, was hijacked by Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, sidelining leaders such as Konda Laxman Bapuji.
In an open letter addressed to the Chief Minister, Kishan Reddy criticised the treatment of leaders like Gade Innaiah, Vijayarama Rao, Ravindra Naik, and Mechineni Kishan Rao, who were marginalised. Even Prof. Jayashankar, who continues to reside in the hearts of the people, was used to attract intellectuals and later discarded. The Union minister pointed out that leaders like Ale Narendra and Devendra Gouda were also sidelined in a similar manner.
He highlighted that the majority of those deceived by Chandrashekar Rao belonged to the Backward Classes and pointed out the neglect of the Constitution drafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar. Kishan Reddy raised concerns about corruption, irregularities, and Chandrashekar Rao's alleged attempts to benefit only his family, potentially causing distress to the souls of 1,200 martyrs.
