CPI Accepts Congress Offer of Kothagudem, Chennur Seats

Hyderabad: CPI secretary K. Narayana said that Congress has offered them Kothagudem and Chennur seats as part of their pre-poll alliance, which the CPI has accepted and talks are still underway with the CPM.

Speaking to media persons here on Wednesday, Narayana said that the Left
parties have decided to work with the Congress as both aspire to dethrone
the BRS government, which has failed on all fronts in the last nine years.

"The Congress high command is holding seat-sharing talks with our national
leaders in Delhi in the run up to the Assembly elections in Telangana. We
were informed that Congress has offered Kothagudem and Chennurseats to CPI
and our party has accepted the proposal. But the seat-sharing pact with CPM
has not been finalised," Narayana said.

"The Congress is yet to make an official announcement on the seat-sharing
arrangement," he said.
