AICC to Finalise Candidates for the Remaining 64 seats in Delhi Today

HYDERABAD: Top national and state Congress leaders are to embark on whirlwind campaigns across the state over the next one week to step up the party's campaign for the ensuing Assembly elections.

TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy, CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and N. Uttam Kumar Reddy will cover 40 constituencies on Friday and Saturday. This will be followed by tours of AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi.

The three state leaders were originally scheduled to begin their two-day door-to-door campaign from Thursday but it was deferred by a day as the AICC central election committee (CEC) is to meet again in Delhi on Thursday to finalise candidates for the remaining 64 seats, party sources said.

Meanwhile, other top leaders like D. Sridhar Babu and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy will launch their campaigns on Thursday.

The Congress has planned a bus yatra with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on October 28 and 29. Kharge will undertake a bus yatra on October 30 as part of his two-day campaigning. Priyanka Gandhi will visit Telangana on October 31 and address a public meeting in Kollapur in Mahabubnagar district in the presence of Kharge.

The Congress has also planned Rahul Gandhi's second phase of bus yatra on November 1 and 2 before the commencement of the filing of nominations on November 3.

Subsequently, the Congress has lined up campaigns by Chief Ministers of Congress-ruled states, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh and Himachal Pradesh, for which the route map and schedule will be released shortly.
