BJP corporators accuse GHMC of bias
Hyderabad: The elected corporators, belonging to BJP, staged a protest in front of GHMC Enforcement Directors office, on Monday. The protesters alleged that Enforcement Director Viswajit Kampati IPS, was being soft towards the banners and hoardings of the TRS party which have been put up throughout the city for the party's plenary. The protesters alleged when the BJP put up the same, banner or a hording in the city, they have been pulled down and penalty slapped on them. Now, there is no response from the enforcement department.
The protest started at 10.30 am, with slogans against the TRS government and as well on the enforcement director. The corporators wanted to meet the director for which they have not got the permission. Later, the corporators and their supporters belonging to the BJP party have been detained by the police but released later.
Dr Surekha Om Prakesh, Gun-foundry Corporator said, “we came here to question the authorities for the injustice but they are not ready to speak. They are getting us arrested by the police. Are we criminals to be arrested,” Dr Surekha asked.
Rakesh Jaiswal, Corporator Jambagh said, “Recently, when the BJP had taken out a rally of Bandi Sanjay, the BJP men put a few banners and flexis across the city but the GHMC enforcement pulled down all the publicity medium within no time. Now the TRS put up the banners across the city but no action is being taken.”
