Congress BC ticket seekers demand 34 seats

Hyderabad: Congress MLA ticket aspirants from the Backward Classes communities on Sunday said the party should keep its word on allocating 34 seats. At a meeting here, they said the assurance was given in the Political Affairs Committee (PAC) and the Pradesh Election Committee (PEC) and should be honoured.
Recalling the role of the BC communities in strengthening the party, they said the Congress would not be able to form government without their help. The leaders are set to meet AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Sonia Gandhi. The issues will be raised in the screening committee and CEC (Central Election Committee).
The meeting thanked Rahul Gandhi for raising the issue of OBC, SC and ST reservations in the Women’s reservation bill.
