Siddaramaiah-H D Kumaraswamy feud: more than meets the eye?

Kumaraswamy is playing drama... because byelections have come: Siddaramaiah.

Bengaluru: Is former CM and Congress leader Siddaramaiah trying to scuttle any chance of a pact with the JD(S) in the coming assembly bypolls by launching a no holds barred offensive against JD(S) leader H.D. Kumaraswamy?

On Tuesday, the online war took a turn for the worse with Siddaramaiah tweeting that "Kumaraswamy is playing drama... because byelections have come." The JD(S) strongman was quick to react blaming Siddaramaiah for the collapse of the coalition government.

Sources said Siddaramaiah may have sensed a move by the Congress leadership to continue the alliance with the JD(S) and make sure secular votes are not split.

Siddaramaiah and his team are reportedly bent on sending out a message to voters that the Congress no longer has an understanding with the JD(S).

"Perhaps, he wants to show to the high command how ungrateful Kumaraswamy has been to Congress leaders including him. The bitter war of words may compel national leaders not to impose an alliance on state leaders," sources said. Both the JD(S) and Congress have announced that they will contest the bypolls separately.
