Infighting spreads to Mahbubabad

WARANGAL: Supporters of MLC Takkalapalle Ravinder Rao on Thursday demanded that BRS leadership change the ruling party candidate from the Mahabubabad constituency.

The supporters met at a B. Ed college in Mahabubabad district and passed a resolution against the re-nomination of sitting MLA B. Shankar Naik from the constituency.

When Ravinder Rao, who was also present at the meeting, tried to convince his supporters that they are working for Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and not MLA Naik, his supporters maintained that people might support the sitting legislator but would not vote for him.

“Shankar Naik is not going to win the election under any circumstances. There is no point in supporting a losing candidate,” the MLC’s supporters remarked.

However, Ravinder Rao advised his supporters not to take any decision in haste. He said he would take the issue to the notice of KCR and try to change the BRS candidate.

Meanwhile, supporters of MLA Shankar Naik accused MLC Ravinder Rao of provoking his supporters against the re-nomination of the sitting legislator.

“Shankar Naik has the full support of people from various areas of Mahabubabad constituency,” the legislator’s supporters maintained.
