Congress tries to pacify Venkat

Hyderabad: Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy called on party leader Priyanka Gandhi at AICC chief Sonia Gandhi's residence at 10 Janpath in New Delhi. Venkat Reddy, the brother of former Munugode MLA, Rajgopal Reddy, who had earlier skipped the meeting of top party leaders from the state on Tuesday, termed this a 'fruitful meeting'.

While skipping questions related to byelections during a media briefing, following the meeting that lasted about 40 minutes, Venkat Reddy emphasised that he would not be answering specific questions.

"We had an elaborate discussion on strengthening the party in Telangana. I provided some suggestions and she also emphasised that the Telangana Congress was now having two more secretaries from the AICC, for better teamwork,” he said.

“I welcome that she offered to lend me an ear in case of any grievances,” Venkat Reddy said. Priyanka Gandhi would be leaving for the US and return after 10 days to discuss future actions. “We also had a discussion on the Bharat Jodo Yatra," he said.
