CM KCR admits Yadadri DCC president in BRS

HYDERABAD: Yadadri District Congress Committee president Kumbham Anil Kumar Reddy joined the BRS in the presence of party president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao at Pragathi Bhavan on Monday. He had lost from Bhongir to the BRS’ Pailla Shekhar Reddy in 2014 and 2018.

Earlier, Anil Kumar Reddy held a meeting in Bhongir and lashed out at Congress Bhongir MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for creating trouble for him in
the constituency. He alleged that the MP had hatched a conspiracy to deny him the Congress ticket. Later, he went to Pragathi Bhavan along with his followers and joined the BRS.

Party sources said that the CM assured Anil of Bhongir Lok Sabha ticket for the 2024 Lok Sobha polls.

Addressing the meeting, Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao said that farmers in Telangana were cursing Congress leaders for their statements that three-hour free power to agriculture was enough.

The CM stated that he introduced 24-hour free power to agriculture after conducting several brainstorming sessions to facilitate farmers to utilise power as per their convenience. "If certain timings are fixed to supply free power, it will create problems in the transmission system unable to cope with the huge load. Transformers may explode," the CM stated.
