'Saaraa Chandrabar Naidu' is an apt name for CM Chandrababu Naidu: Roja

Vijayawada: Slamming the changes in bar policy, YSRC MLA R.K. Roja on Saturday said ‘Saaraa Chandrabar Naidu’ is an apt name for Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

She said there is speculation about her joining the TD, for which she answered that YSRC chief Jagan Mohan Reddy had given her MLA seat right after she joined the party, while Mr Naidu got her suspended from the Assembly for one year. She questioned the media for publishing such speculations without contacting her for confirmation.

While speaking to media on Saturday from Lotus Pond in Hyderabad, Ms Roja also said safety of women is not assured in TD rule.

She criticised that Mr Naidu and his scion Mr Lokesh had formulated this policy by accepting bribes from liquor syndicates.

She said the Bar policy was approved by all drunkards in the cabinet. She criticised that earlier there is a bar for every 50,000 people; and with the new policy, one bar is provided for every 30,000.

Ms. Roja said the TD government, which had utterly failed to establish even a single new school, had now given a GO establishing 85 new bar shops. She reminded that earlier bar licences are given yearly, but the new bar policy is facilitating it for 5 years.

She even fired Mr Naidu for trying to violate the Supreme Court verdict that bar shops should not be 500 m close to the national highways while it’s 220 m on state highways for bar shop commissions.

She alleged that the TD government is trying to denotify the national highways in the state as local roads.

She even said Mr Naidu is the least bothered if women of the state are becoming widows due to bar shops, as he is focused only on commissions. Ms Roja also said the AP public were expressing their agony and were cursing their fate daily.
