No coordination among BJP leaders in Nirmal district to activate party on poll eve

ADILABAD: A lack of coordination is evident among the BJP leaders in Nirmal district even as the assembly elections are nearing in Telangana state. Notably, senior leader Appala Ganesh is not actively participating in the party programmes after Aleti Maheshwar Reddy joined the BJP.

Groups are active in the Nirmal district BJP and fears among the party cadres are that this could affect the winning chances of the party candidates.

District BJP president Ramadevi is also not participating in the programmes of other ticket aspirants in the district. She was missing at a Chaithanya yatra meeting held in Thanur. But Adilabad MP Soyam Bapu Rao attended the meeting as its chief guest.

Apala Ganesh was not seen at a party meeting held in Soan mandal headquarters where Aleti Maheshwar and Ravula Ramnath, Ayyannagari Bhumaiah, BJP Nirmal district charge Mahesh and others were present on May 24.

BJP leaders Ramarao Patel, Mohanrao Patel and Ramadevi are aspiring for the party ticket to contest in poll in Mudhole assembly constituency.

Ganesh, a former Nirmal municipal chairman and close associate of minister Indrakaran Reddy, had joined the Congress just before the 2018 elections. Later, he found his way into the BJP under the leadership of Soyam Bapurao reportedly with a view to grab the party ticket to contest the polls from Nirmal assembly constituency.

For a long time, there existed a good understanding between Ramarao Patel and Maheshwar Reddy, and this was so even when both were in the Congress and are now in BJP.

Even in Khanapur assembly constituency, there are groups within the BJP. Pembi ZPTC Bhukya Janaki and former Adilabad MP Rathod Ramesh, defeated candidate Satla Ashok and senior leader Ajmeera Hari Naik are also trying for party ticket to contest the coming elections.
