BJP will not retain seats in Hyderabad: K Chandrasekhar Rao
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday made light of BJP president Amit Shah saying, “For KCR, there is no Amit Shah or gimit shah, for KCR, Telangana is Badshah.”
He ridiculed Mr Shah’s claims that the BJP would form government in TS in 2019, terming it the “joke of the millennium”.
Mr Rao said no one could dethrone the TRS government, which was working sincerely for the last three years and had made it the state No. 1 in the country. "With the support of Telangana people, the TRS will win elections with a thumping majority in the 2019 elections," he said.
He said the BJP could win five Assembly seats, that too in the GHMC limits, due to confusion prevailing in 2014 at the time of bifurcation of the state.
“Now that confusion is gone. They could not win even a single corporator seat in the five Assembly constituencies held by them in the GHMC elections last year. This shows where the TRS stands politically and where the BJP is,” he said.
“The latest survey ordered by me revealed that the BJP will lose even those five seats in the 2019 elections. I will disclose those survey results very soon,” Mr Rao said at his press conference here.
He said neither he or the TRS as a whole was worried or concerned about Mr Amit Shah’s tours or the BJP’s expansion plans in Telangana state.
“In a democracy, every political party has the right to take up tours and expansion plans. We welcome it. But, if they try to spread blatant lies against us for political mileage, we will not sit quiet,” the Chief Minister said.
