Governor is BJP's middleman, says Hanumantha Rao

He criticized the governor for not acting when farmers were handcuffed by the TRS government.

Hyderabad: AICC secretary and former MP V Hanumantha Rao has strongly criticized Governor ESL Narasimhan for doing what he alleged was a “middleman’s job instead of fulfilling his gubernatorial obligations and duties”.

In a media conference on Tuesday, Hanumantha Rao charged that the Governor was trying to get the Telugu Desam to support the BJP in the upcoming Karnataka elections in response to reports about the meeting between the Governor and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Mr. Hanumantha said that these efforts by the BJP and the Governor were futile because the Congress was certain to win the Karnataka Assembly elections and retain power.

He said that Governor Narasimhan did not find time to do justice to the opposition party’s fight against the misrule of TRS government, but has time to go to Delhi to submit reports on the Telugu states.

He criticized the governor for not acting when farmers were handcuffed by the TRS government or when it removed the Dharna Chowk at Indira Park in Hyderabad.
