Harish Rao calls for movement against trash
HYDERABAD: Finance minister T. Harish Rao has called for a people’s movement against trash, plastic, mosquitoes and flies in urban areas of the state. He was speaking after launching the Pattana Pragati programme at the Sangareddy municipality on Monday.
The minister assured that developmental works in municipalities will be taken up in a phased manner, which will totally change the way they look. He pointed out that the Palle Pragati has already been implemented in two phases. This has ushered in development in villages.
Following Palle Pragati, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has now taken Pattana Pragati for development of urban areas in the state. Mr Harish Rao said the new municipal act has given some rights and responsibilities to people. The act has also brought in transparency and accountability on part of employees.
