KCR has made polls all about money: Etala

Hyderabad: Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has destroyed elections in Telangana by making them all about money and he is now out to spread this destruction to other states, BJP MLA from Huzurabad, Etala Rajendar has said.

Speaking with reporters on Wednesday, Rajendar said the situation has come to such a pass in the state that the ruling party in the state has begun
distributing money to voters under police protection, and by breaking laid down procedures as was seen during the last GHMC elections where families in the city, affected by floods, were handed Rs 10,000 in cash in a bid to lure them to vote for the ruling party.

He said under Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s guidance, some Rs 600 crore were distributed in the Huzurabad bypoll, and hundreds of crores of
rupees were also distributed in Munugode. And the Election Commission, which is supposed to prevent such abuse, stayed a mute spectator.

“And when there are elections in other states, he sends funds as he did with Kerala, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Tamil Nadu. This money is not KCR’s but which was looted from the people by grabbing land from the poor using the Dharani portal,” Rajendar said.

“The country should be warned that if the Telangana Chief Minister enters other states for contesting in elections, then the same destruction of the election systems will follow there too,” Rajendar added.

He also sounded a warning for political parties saying that “KCR has his agents and ‘coverts’ in Opposition parties to keep tabs on the happenings. Every political party has spies and the parties should be watchful of how KCR undermines them.”

Referring to the upcoming Budget session of the state Assembly, Rajendar said “the government deliberately is keeping the Governor away from addressing a joint session of the Assembly and Council. Gone are the days of all-party meetings on important issues. The BJP is not being called for the Business Advisory Council meetings on the pretext that it does not have the minimum 5 MLAs. And if we even start speaking, then we are barred from the session.”

"We demand a white paper on the damages that occurred to the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Scheme projects. Even engineers are not being allowed to visit the damaged pump houses," Rajendar said.
