Vangaveeti Radha continues suspense over next move

Talking to reporters on Thursday, he offered to explain the circumstances that led to his exit from YSRC.

Vijayawada: Continuing the suspense over his next move, Kapu strong man Vangaveeti Mohan Ranga’s son and former MLA, Vangaveeti Radhakrishna explained that unable to face more humiliation, he had quit the YSRC. It was widely speculated on Thursday that he would announce he was joining TD on Friday since TD MLCs had visited him at his residence on Wednesday.

They had invited him on behalf of TD supremo and CM N. Chandrababu Naidu to join the ruling party.

Talking to reporters on Thursday, he offered to explain the circumstances that led to his exit from YSRC. However, he failed to give any clarity on whether he had accepted the invite from TD or not. But, he appealed to CM N. Chandrababu Naidu to fulfil the ideals of his father Mohan Ranga of providing land pattas to every poor person in Vijayawada.

In an interesting remark, he also said it was wrong to attribute the killing of his father to one particular party-TD.

He said some individuals in TD had killed his father. He also regretted making some serious comments regarding TD earlier and said Ranga followers were there in every party including TD.

He said, unfortunately, some people with vested interests had confined his father Ranga to one particular caste. He said his father had followers from all castes.

Mr Radhakrishna found fault with YSRC chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and questioned him for attending the event to unveil his father’s statue. “Do I need to take permission to unveil my father’s statue? Jagan said I’m like his younger brother but is this the way he treats his younger brother. YSRC leaders had tried to ruin my character. I was humiliated. He doesn’t give respect to his MLAs. There is no freedom in YSRC. For me, my father’s ideals are important and to achieve them I will do whatever it takes,” Radhakrishna told reporters.

He wished that nobody else in YSRC had to face such humiliation as he had experienced in the party. Mr Radhakrishna added he had been getting threats to his life on social media ever since he quit the YRSC.
