Kakinada: Kapu leaders from Telugu Desam hailed the decision of providing 5 per cent reservations to Kapus in 10 per cent Central Government quota.
They said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu did justice to Kapu community by fulfilling his promise. The Kapus, led by TD city president Nunna Dorababu, performed abhi-shekam with milk to a photo of Mr Naidu. Godavari Urban Development Authority (GUDA) Director Gatti Satyanarayana said that Mr Naidu's decision would be helpful to the community. He said that the Kapus would support TD in the coming elections.
Mayor Sunkara Pava-ni, Corporators S. Siva Prasanna, Adduri Varalakshmi, Korumilli Bala Prasad, Mallipudi Deepika, JD Pawan Kumar, B.Ramakrishna, I.Ravanamma, TD former City President S.Tirumala Kumar, Gadi Shiva and others participated in the event.
