HC orders action against TRS MLA\'s hubby for Rs 2.26 crore fraud

Allegations were levelled against PACS chairman M. Devendar Reddy, husband of TRS legislator M. Padma Devender Reddy

Hyderabad: Justice T. Vinod Kumar of Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the registrar and commissioner of cooperative societies to initiate proceedings against those who had embezzled Rs 2.26 crore from the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Society (PACS), Konapur, Rayampet mandal in Medak district.

Allegations were levelled against PACS chairman M. Devendar Reddy, husband of TRS legislator M. Padma Devender Reddy, and society CEO P. Gopal Reddy for diverting funds.

Based on the complaints, the assistant registrar of cooperative societies conducted an inquiry and submitted the report to the district co-operative officer on June 28. No action was initiated against the accused.

Following this, PACS directors Mahipal Reddy and Siddiramulu approached the High Court seeking directions to authorities to initiate criminal and civil proceedings against the chairman and CEO. Justice Vinod Kumar asked the authorities why they were sitting on the report for five months without taking action.
