\'Friendly fight\' between CPM and Congress over Paleru seat in Khammam

Khammam: A ‘friendly fight’ is on for seat-sharing between the Congress and the CPIM in Paleru much before the elections.

There are several aspirants for the existing three general seats in the erstwhile Khammam district. The CPIM leadership wants to field party state secretary Tammineni Veerabhadram from Paleru. The Congress high command had promised the Paleru seat to Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and proposed Khammam to Thummala Nageshwar Rao.

The Congress is offering Wyra seat to CPIM while the red leadership insists on giving Paleru for Veerabhadram.

The issue went to the AICC and it is planning to release the second list on October 25 or 26. The Congress has offered Chennur (SC) and Kothagudem (General) to CPI while Miryalaguda and Wyra to CPIM. But CPIM leaders say the Congress party is offering them seats with no winning chance.
