MK Stalin warns BJP on Panchami land issue

As the DMK had not come out with any \"concrete solid proof\" that Murasoli was not built on Panchami land.

Chennai: BJP state secretary Dr R Srinivasan on Wednesday said the National Commission for Scheduled Castes has asked the state Chief Secretary to respond to his petition on DMK organ Murasoli allegedly being built on Panchami land,

"I gather from the Commission that they have sought the response from the Chief Secretary on my petition. I am waiting for the state's response", he told DC.
Dr Srinivasan had written to the NCSC on Monday drawing attention to the reports accusing the DMK of building its Murasoli office on Panchami land, which he argued was "illegal" since such land originally allotted to the Scheduled Caste people "for their livelihood" cannot be sold on any grounds.

As the DMK had not come out with any "concrete solid proof" that Murasoli was not built on Panchami land, there was "strong suspicion among the public" that the party had committed illegality in this issue, said Dr Srinivasan in his petition to the NCSC asking it to take it up "seriously" with the TN government.

"DMK is a political party which claims that they are the champions of social justice. Such self-claiming champions should not be allowed to go scot free if they have grabbed the land belonging to the Scheduled Caste people", the BJP functionary said in his petition to the NCSC.

DMK president MK Stalin has hit back saying Dr Srinivasan has got into the issue without basis and by blindly believing PMK chief Dr S Ramadoss. "I have already challenged Dr Ramadoss if he would quit politics if I produced the original documents relating to the Murasoli land. He remains silent. And now this BJP functionary has latched on to that charge and petitioned the NCSC", Stalin said in a statement.

"Srinivasan is behaving like Ramadoss' handmaid. He has got onto a mud horse hoping to cross the stream", said the DMK chief. Responding, Dr Srinivasan wondered why Stalin was upset with him when all that he had done was merely to raise the issue and seek a probe to establish truth.

"This Murasoli land issue was actually first raised by Vaiko, who is with Stalin now", the BJP functionary told Deccan Chronicle.
