Ramesh Chennithala’s KIIFB charges ridiculous: Pinarayi Vijayan

Thrissur: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has termed the allegations of corruption by opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala about Kerala Infrastructure Investment Fund Board (KIIFB) as ridiculous.

Speaking at the Azhikodan Martyrdom Day here on Monday, the Chief Minister said Mr Chennithala’s allegations did not deserve a reply.

“KIIFB was set up with the approval of Kerala assembly and the LDF government aims to raise funds up to the tune of Rs 50,000 crore for infrastructure development of Kerala in five years. Of which, projects up to Rs 45,000 crore have been prepared in the first three years of the LDF government,” Mr Vijayan said.

He said the LDF governments would not construct ‘Panchavadi Palams’ referring to the corruption in the construction of Palariva-ttam bridge. “The UDF is upset that KIIFB funds are used for several infrastructural projects in health, educational and in other sectors as well,” he said.
