K Chandrasekhar Rao can learn in council: Congress MLC T Jeevan Reddy

The Congress MLC maintained that as a result, the opposition could not get a proper reply on various issues that they had raised.

Hyderabad: Congress MLC T. Jeevan Reddy has charged that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao does not have even the minimum respect for the State Legislative Council.

Speaking to media on Monday, Mr Reddy said if the CM makes it a point to attend Council meetings, he can get clarity on several issues, which might not be possible for him in the Assembly. In the CM6s absence, the task of replying to the discussion on budget in the Legislative Council was left to finance minister T. Harish Rao.

The Congress MLC maintained that as a result, the opposition could not get a proper reply on various issues that they had raised. Had the Chief Minister been there to reply, they would have got better clarity on those issues.

In this regard, Mr Reddy stated that after formation of separate Telangana, tribal students of the state have lost 720 medical seats. Farmers are not getting the six per cent concession on interest paid for availing crop loans. During the last six years, people, who have become victims after travelling to the Gulf, have not received any financial assistance from the government.

The Congress MLC said these issues required clarity and demanded that the state government take immediate action on resolving these issues.
